That's apparently the compromise they came to with whoever tried to beat them over the head with a Cease & Desist. There's a similar site, vNES, which is the same thing only with NES games, and it used to have almost every NES game under the sun, but someone thought it wasn't quite legal and came to the compromise that, provided there was a physical copy in the possesion of the webmasters, they could host the ROM on the site.
thegreenmanalishi, i removed the link in your post. linking to warez sites isn't permitted here, even if it doesn't offer any downloads. do this again and you're banned.
Sorry, I thought because it was meant to be all legal happy rainbows and daisies on that site, it'd be ok. Also, I don't appreciate you rewording my post like that. Delete it if you want, don't make me out to be an idiot.
No Warez – Posting up and asking for illegal warez is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: ROMs, ISOs, and game cracks. Violation of this Rule will usually result anywhere from a Warning to a Ban, depending on the offense.
The entire site is built on convenient loopholes in legality so that it teeters on the brink of lawbreaking. I'm all for what they're doing, because it's good to be able to experience the games to an extent, but nothing compares to owning a physical copy of a game and being able to say 'This is my posession, and it is good'.
But the site said it was completely legal. How does that count as warez?
haha, TPB (abbreviated, hope that isn't against the rules) also claims to be fully legal. And yes, since their servers are in Sweden it IS legal for them to be up, but its still illegal for us (US/UK/wherever else) to download/use their services.

Well, unlike them, these guys aren't letting pirated music, movies, and porn get distributed their site. They use the games that they own and just "display" them in a different format. Yeah, I guess that's arguably illegal, but so is loogeying on the street in some places, and yet people still do it.
er, the pirate bay does nothing illegal. when we "use their services", we're just using their site to find torrent files. tpb doesn't actually host the data. their servers could be in the us and still be legal afaik.

They still have to hsot the little 10kb torrent file needed to START downloading the torrent don't they? I know the torrent themselves aren't actually hosted on their site, but I thought the main reason they were brought to court was because they were providing access to the torrents or soemthing stupid like that.
Perhaps a better example would be W-BB? Although all the stuff you can download from there is hosted on Rapidshare, so IDK.
It will NOT be made by sonic team! It's actually being made by a company called "Dimps", which is a studio that helped make Street Fighter IV. They created such games as, Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush, both are actually pretty good games.
I probably don't have to mention how I like neither Sonic Advance nor Sonic Rush. Also, that few seconds of gameplay footage look awful and definitely not like classic Sonic.
Guess we gotta wait and see what the rest of the game will be like.
Doesn't look too bad IMO. I really hate the jumping front-flip animation though. He spins soooo slow, in the originals he spins like 5x faster then that. I also really hope they don't blur the backgrounds when he starts running fast (can't tell from the video).
Us EU PSN users are getting royally fucked over, moreso lately than ever. US got flow for free, and now they're getting a bunch of Capcom games half price, and we still haven't got SOTN.
