Just ordered Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for 14 euros, which is awesome seeing the cheapest unused copy I could find in germany was pretty close to 30 euros.

Also it seems playing PSP games on a TV only works if the TV is capable of progressive scan, which mine isn't. Good thing I checked the internet before ordering any cables. D:

Anyways, looks like I can join in on the SOTN fad soon.

On the PSP itself you can change the setting between progressive and the other one (interlaced IIRC)

Unlocking SOTN is no mean feat if, like me, you've never played old-style Castlevania before.

Why am I so amazing?
I did it quite easily within the day I got it, and I've never played older Castlevanias. Just look up the location of it so you don't miss it; it's a bit hidden.

Also, you're in for a treat since that's a port of the Saturn version, the most complete version available. You get 2 extra familiars, 2 small bonus areas, and Maria playable over the PSX/XBLA version.

It's a peculiar beast, as it's not quite the Saturn or PSX version. It seems to be an expanded and adapted version of the PSX version, and, as such, appears to be far more like the XBL version.

But it has all the Saturn goodies, which is the importiant part.

Although come to think of it it may not have those extra areas.

I wish they did a 360-style controller for the PS3 because as much as I love DualShock, it has its' glaring faults that one cannot escape sometimes.

Honestly though, whats the difference between the two? I've used both, and both feel fine. The 260's D-pad is pretty bad though IMO, but if I got used to it it would be fine. Also the 360's controller is a lot thicker and heavier. They switched the D-Pad and analog stick, but that doesn't make a difference.

I've got quite stubby thumbs so a little bit of distance makes a big difference to me. Ideally, I'd be able to use a GC controller (the best controller ever designed by CHuck Norris) with the PS3, but it's more likely that a ripoff 360 controller will make its way over to the PS3. Don't ask why, it made sense in my head.

Dualshock's left analog stick is in the wrong place. I have a controller for my PC that imiataes that controller and I never use the sticks for anything because they're stupidly placed so it's far more comfortable to use the D-Pad. Using those sticks is like using the GC's Pad and C-Stick to play a game.

playstations' controllers' buttons' symbols always bugged me too. not sure who thought giving buttons multiple-syllable names would be a good idea.

I got the latest issue of Game Informer in the mail today.  It was a pretty bland issue, but there was one part that caught my eye, and actually depressed me a little.  They have already rated Dark Void, even though it doesn't come out for a week or so.  They gave it a 7, which is a pretty crappy score considering all the hype.  My level of excitement for this game has gone down considerably :(.    Granted, they don't always know what they're talking about so I will still get it and play it, but it's quite discouraging to see that score.

oh yeah, I forgot to renew my sub to GI. the iue before the most recent one was my last.

idk, I used to love GI but now that I don't play any consoles, half the magazine doesn't even apply to me. I'm highly considering subscribing to that PC Gamer magazine.

In fact I think I'll set an alarm on my phone so I remember to do that tomorrow.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Surely 7 out of ten is above average?  I know what you mean though.  It's like raving about a game to somebody, and they say they've played a demo, and it was boring.  Even though they may like completely different games, and have a legitimate reason for disliking it, you still start doubting your interest.

All I can suggest is what I normally do: Do some basic research, reading a little about its content.  Wait until near release, and check out some gameplay movies - NOT trailers.  It might give you a better idea of what you're getting into.

But I want people to tell me what my opinion of the game is, it would save me so much trouble.

In a perfect world, you wouldn't need anyone's opinion, not even your own, because all games would be good.

I've just read that when they release the big DS in the UK, it'll come with two shite games pre-loaded, and will come in two amazing colours: Brown, and Wine Red.  Fucking fantastic.  Thanks, Nintendo.

The Dark Void demo is out on XBLA and probably PSN as well. Easy way to get a taste for it and form your own opinion. I'll probably give it a spin myself sometime.

But I know old people with fairly poor vision who can see DS Lites sufficiently. I think it was primarily another attempt at boosting sales in Japan. Everyone there must have at least three DSs by now.

Just got a working USA 0-00 copy of Prime. \o/ Won't be playing this until after I finished SBing Prime on Trilogy, though.

Also got a notice from the Zoll that one of my ordered PSP games got stuck there, but today's saturday so I'll have to wait until monday to pick it up. Great timing. ._.
