yeah the axe glitch made everything different, when we first triggered it against balore we got like 22, then i got 19:20 with alucard learning more about it

eventually small sub techniques made us get it down until 15:80

I realize this is going offtopic, but just how do you do the axegasm? DO you have to throw an axe in the exactly correct way, or what?

Back on topic, did you have any ideas for these theoretical route improvements?

ill tell you just dont make it public

the only thing needed is to overload screen while throwing an axe, the vampire killer which does holy damage because of the holy animation is enoughto make it slow

ok so the way of doing it is to throw an axe an whip, you gotta sync with your partner because if they dont whip at the same time no slowdown is produced

well as me and jah discovered the axegasm in first place we share the right, he then found deeper on how its done

as its still kinda our tactic we need to discuss whether to make it public, i have noi problem on sharing it as many tricks im using here at my SM run are copied, yet jah wants to keep our tactics as ours, like our signature way of crushing foes

i think im gonna take a week or 2 before speedrunning this game again, school starts and im off on my own, in a new group so first im kinda gonna get used to it

Your signature way of crushing foes that can't be done unless both players know how to do it, yeah. And in the meantime allows you to hold completely uncontestable records. Jah clearly has a very TG mentality "I want the record!" as opposed to an SDA mentality "Let's all cooperate to do the best possible."

Sorry. I'm not angry with you at all. I just consider keeping secrets like this to be a very cruel thing to do.

back on topic (hopefully for good) good luck in a couple weeks when you restart your run. Take as long a break as you want.

this segment is simply hard, thats all i got to say, botwoon isnt that easy and combined with the horizontal spark it gets dificult, there is also the botwoon gamble to kill draygon, i also use hotarubi's route to lower norfair

5th.- ridley lair, norfair 00:19
this one is kind of a breeze, the only thing is to take care of ridley and do the double kagoball, im also gonna manipulate ridley so i exit norfair with at least 4 supers not counting the cacti one

6th.- norfair- end game 00:23
this one is pure manipulation of the metroids, my goal is to be at the metroid room with 8 supers, with that i can kill mother brain easily

also i finally figured out how hotarubi charges, it suddenly came into my head, it was really weird

as for the segments i know at the end they get really short but i need to manipulate stuff along with complex tricks, while not the best it at least gives me a 31, ill try and begin recording tomorrow but im gonna try and use at least 3 cassetes to avoid erasing segments

Excuse me? Did you just say you went from Ceres Station all the way to Red Brinstar in less than a minute? Even with tool-assistance, there is no way in hell that's even remotely possible.

He just posted the save times at the begining of that segment. He did the landing-red brinstar segment in 10 minutes according to his list.

not much, im still trying the landing-red brinstar segment

this is my first segmented run so i try to achieve perfection, purely perfection because it would be very bad if in the end i find myself getting another 32 without any chances on 31

also, what did we say was the best draygon strat??

i might be rusty but my chances this morning were 3 round blue suit and 2 round no blue suit, i can remember the time saved but i went with 2 rounds, besides saving a bit of time it meant saving health

I think we decided two-round no blue suit for any%, and the blue uit version was for 100%. And that landing-red Brinstar segment is hard; I remember from when I was doing practice 100% segmented runs. Good luck.

thanks, it is a hard segment, most tricks have to be done multiple times which gives more chances of ruining it, also it is the longest segment

i feel this and the maridia segment are gonna be the hardest, maridia has botwoon whose technique i havent made perfect yet, there is also the horizontal spark which is totally insane as i need to swap my hand position to jump and press start

draygon isnt such a big deal but its not what i call a free pass such as kraid

Hey Azor you gotten that landing - red brinstar segment yet?

You talking about Maridia segment just made me remember my struggle against Botwoon which I ended up killing only 2 rounded. >_> That horizontal shinespark is also one annoying trick. I really sometimes wonder how can my times suck so badly monkey anus even though I feel like playing fast. I can't blame it all on playing on PAL-version although it is only a bit slower.

Well I'm working on breaking the 50 min on the moment. I could get 48 easily but that's where it ends. 47 probably with all my skills.

31 minutes just goes beside my understanding.

sadly i reused the tape for my single segment attempt and kinda abused re-records a bit so my tape is screwed, i cant record anything for now but i keep practicing.

Whenever I record I have the system's AV cables going into the VCR, then have the VCR display it on the TV. I have the AV out jacks on my VCR goto my DV camcorder which is linked to my computer via firewire and I just record directly onto my harddrive - so I don't use either tapes or dvd's to record.
