I thought of something, would'nt it make the Torizo skip on PAL easier if you just could back into the bombs and doing so not having to take time turning around the last bit.

Yup.  Because you can get charge beam beforre bombs.

Moonwalk is a ridiculous feature with no practical use whatsoever.  No, I don't use it.

You don't need charge beam to moonwalk.
Wall-jump touch is faster than moonwalk though (it can reach much farther), so it's still not useful.

I wonder if it can be used to do a shorter short-charge (distance-wise).
