I wanna know what's the point of doing a no dash&no walljump run, it's not like they are glitches? Even CF isn't.

Damage Boost isn't a glitch either. Walljumps and even the run button (judging by the default control scheme) weren't "meant" to be used as often as they are in speedruns.

This is interesting because I was getting complaints when I was wall jumping in my older videos of this run and now I'm getting complaints by not wall jumping.

I decided not to wall jump or shinespark unless necessary because I wanted my run to be clean of any technique with a potential sequence break. A bunch of bomb jumping to get to other items would be horribly slow and boring so I cut that out except for entertainment when it doesn't matter.

Why not just do the run with the "regular" route with no sequence breaks whatsoever? Would make everything so much easier and this kind of stupid analyzing would not be necessary. I tried it and it was kinda fun.

Oh now I read your sig... and a 100% even. Do you know the exact "intended" route? Or does anybody know if there was some order the game designers meant the items to be picked up? If you have some route planned out for yourself I would be interested in taking a look at it.

I doubt there was an intended route with the unnecessary pick ups like extra power bombs and missiles. So I just pick them up on the way.

What else... I think it is stupid to think some artificial limitations for playing, it does not make the game any more interesting to play or watch, and it is not an interesting concept. I just hope nobody starts a new topic for "being in morphball form" run or any similar.

Your opinion is stupid and I hate you.

Thank you, I appreciate that, care to elaborate? I am sorry for having an opinion and stating it in a relevant thread.

Basically, I noticed you felt that others' opinions are stupid, then continued to state your opinions as though everyone recognizes them as common facts. You close the line by mentioning a form of fun-run that has already proven quite fun indeed on other games. There comes a point that it feels like it's a crime to enjoy it, but these are FAR from that point, at least from the relative point of my observation of common opinion.

In short, I do believe you have a right to their opinion of their opinion, as much as I have a right to my opinion of your opinion, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea to put it so bluntly. The "I hate you" bit had been exaggerated, but I felt it did a better job of getting my point across less seriously.

EDIT: right to YOUR opinion of their opinion. sorry.

Maybe I did put some wrong words in my message, I meant that I consider artificial limitations stupid, not the people who use them or consider using them. Maybe I was wrong when saying the analyzing stupid, I meant something like meaningless or so. No need to attack me dude, why not confirm the meaning of my messages a second time before you start the "I hate you" rumble? I did not say anything offensive towards anybody in that post of mine you quoted. I criticized the topic/subject, why are you taking it personally in "everyone else´s" place? It may seem like I meant that people are stupid for discussing this, but I was merely saying that I don´t even consider discussing about that matter more deeply.

Well you say things pretty bluntly too, it is not a shame to use stronger expressions every now and then (though maybe mine was a little misplaced here). And why should we have opinions about other people´s opinions? Why cannot we just accept what other people think and have our opinions about topics and issues.

In short, I am not a fan of walkathons or other limited runs that might make the gameplay boring for the player and the viewer.

At least some compromise has been made here today. Sorry to sound so harsh. I've been in a bit of a darker mood today, and just figured the more angry it reads, the less angry it's read. I've miscalculated this kind of thing before, though. :^\

(I'm pretty sure there are no typos here. >_>)

Yeah, I´ve been sounding kinda harsh elsewhere too lately, maybe I am irritated about something completely different but it somehow reflects even here. It is nice to get someone to notify for it, otherwise it might become out of control. It is always nice to settle things quickly, thanks man.

if this is meant to be a full run of the game then all main items should be colected and you may use whatever it takes to get to them.  you just cant fake something, like a mockball to early super missles.  that leaves only a few other things that wont be gotten but atleast its finishable.

Yeah, no. I decided to limit myself because I needed something a bit different, now I just want to blitz my way through a suitless run. laugh new

I have finished the run
TIME:
1:08 and of course 100%.

I did a single segment before I decided to take this challenge and got 1:15 as my time so I shaved off quite a bit.I haven't encoded the segments quite yet and I will do that tomorrow.

Every Bit Counts
regarding a n00b run, the farthest you can get is to the secound room of Red Brinstar. attached an smv if anyone cares (note, it's badly played).

Yeah I know, with walljumps allowed pre botwoon is the limit though (if not earlier)

Don't think you can make it up the big grapple room in Maridia Speedbooster-less and grapple-less... without IBJ.

It has been done in a TAS at least with walljumps, don't know how hard it is for a real player though.

Not that it matters for anything at all but I checked and it is possible to do that room without grapple or speed in realtime, it is hard though and impossible with hi-jump. Smv attached, the rerecords where just to make it easier to record.
