It's there because you're looking at it in the wrong pallete.

The tilesets in SMILE read palette straight from the ROM. Though it does look like a glitched tileset. I'm going to look at Crocomire's room now to see what I can find...

Edit: Why is there a knight from Chrono Trigger in there Question  Rolling Eyes

Because SMILE doesn't know what it really is. Enemy graphics aren't loaded from the rom.

But why is there a Green Chozo? Has the essence of Mike Z infected it?

Haha. No, I would write it off as a random coincidence. I've seen stranger.

It's all over the glitched Kraid's room, oddly enough.

No, the green chozo is as real as a bang or a stoke: it exists in the game but not without hacking.

I was referring to the (false) rumors that it exists ingame, like Warfair.

You took all the fun out of writing that.  :?

Warfair. I ought to put that into the game using SMILE... apart from I can't work out how to create functioning enemies yet... stupid development software...

Sorry if this is a newb question, but what's SMILE (I'm guessing it's a development software since you said that in your post, but I'm just making sure), and where can I get it?

SMILE is a program that allows you to hack Super Metroid. With that you can modify the game and make rooms different and all...
you can find the last version here
Well I think all I said is correct, but I'm not sure. Anyway this might be true.

When I try to load that djHackedRoom.zmv it shows the title screen for about a frame and crashes with a tileset of the large font...

The zipped folder you load into your emulator, go in there and look at what the name of the file in there is.  Exclude the part after the peroid.  Now, rename the ZMV file to have the same name as the file inside the zipped folder.

Reasons it still won't work:

1.)  It might've been made with a different version of the rom, as there is a PAL and an NSTC version.

2.)  It was made with an older version of the emu you're using.

Did YOU just blatantly mini-mod on purpose? As you hopefully can see, I found this topic just finekthx without the need of you aiding me, such as a dog might an old, half-crippled blind man.
As you may also be able to see, this topic was indeed bumped, but it wasn't caught by one of us quickly enough, and replies were generated. Since it's healthy conversation again, I'm fine with it.

This is a warning; don't try and mini-mod again.

Sorry, I didn't realize how old the topic was.  I followed a link from elsewhere that went directly to this topic and didn't bother to check the date of the most recent post.

Not trying to Mini-Mod or anything, but if there's a problem with Reviving an older topic, then why don't the mods just close and Delete the Topic? Just a question.

Very little is ever deleted here; pretty much only spam and not all of that.  The site and its forums exist primarily as an information and discussion archive, so deleting threads would be counterproductive; it's also undesirable for people to make the same threads over and over instead of continuing on an existing one.  So on-topic posting on an older thread is encouraged (as opposed to making a new thread for the same topic).  Remember: the search function is your best friend.  However, bumping a thread with a useless, offtopic post is not and sometimes does result in a thread being locked, unless useful discussion ensues after the bump and before a mod/admin notices.

I think some of this is covered in the Discussing the Rules thread in the Rules and Announcments board.  For that matter, it may be covered in the rules themselves.

http://www.metroid2002.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2093 for info about bumping.

I'm wondering why a mini-Crocomire would even be sprited. Was it supposed to be like the mini-Draygons in Maridia, or the mini-Kraid? Why not a mini-Ridley then? Also, does it do anything, or just sit there, like the Crocomire in ZM?

I do believe the mini-Crocomire was fully programmed except for an inability to recognize floors and ceilings (Which means it won't go up a slope, just forward into the ground) but does rcognize walls.  I might be wrong, though.  Looks like we need Kej again.
