Hey there!

Been lurking for a while, but thought I'd register to contribute something. I'm working on a table that contains all the differences between the individual region and console releases of MP. UchihaSasuke might have already seen it over at GAF, but I figured this board would be a better place for it.

http://home.arcor.de/ar2615305150/ver_diff/metroidprime.html

It's still a heavy WIP, but it'll be expanded over the time. Help regarding the question marks is of course greatly appreciated.

Can leave elite research without picking up warrior, it doesn't dissapear.
Arboretum gate is blocked.
Door behind bendezium is not locked.
Sheegoths have double life.
Can't scroll through the staff credits.
Power beam bug still works (Charge beam, switch without letting go of fire, switch back and let er rip)

Huh... I never knew that the Artifact of Warrior glitch even existed in the original NA version (Which I own) since I always grabbed it after the battle.

It may be a good idea to check out the Trilogy topic for what's been found so far if you're looking for more things to check:

One of the things I hadn't checked before, updated now.
I'm a bit weirded out about this bug being present in all of the Wii versions, while other things were changed. From the look of things, all three releases seem to be similar.

Great table you've got there!  Once it's updated more with sequence break and Secret World information, it will become really valuable since no longer will we have to serarch through threads that are page and pages long to find our answers.

Very nice list!  Saw it on GAF earlier (you are such a huge fan there).  Game save size could be something else you keep track of.

I keep a list of every known version which, in part, lists major differences.  Contains demos too, but not the wii-makes yet.
all_known_Primes.txt
Nothing really to help the OP's project, but its related!

Besides the Korean version could we expect any other regions with their own version?  Brazil sounds like a good candidate.

Also, you can still to the coolest WTR glitch ever in the room you kill Phazon Elite by being on the ice door when the fight ends.

Charge beam bug was not fixed in the JPN version of the game IIRC and I think it was fixed in the USA-02 game.

Head music always plays :P

Sheegoth's do not have double life in the USA 02 game.

aftercredits.thsp is the original version in USA-02.

No voiceover for suit malfunction (Frigate Orpheon I'm assuming) on USA-02.

my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
from what i remember, baby sheegoths took lots of damage in the jp version and the credits couldn't be scrolled there.
it seems they have less life only in the original GC US versions.

Metroid Prime, what else?
That is a table. Now you can add the fact that hunter metroid is present in frost cave in PAL Trilogy (okay that is a small contribution xD)
m2k2's "version differences" page about frost cave is: http://www.metroid2002.com/version_differences_frost_cave.php

Actually if you check the whole site about version differences (list on the left), you've got many many things to add! good luck :p

I have to admit that, yesterday, I did my first sequence break ever (scan dash for Space Jump Boots first). So I'm still very noobish all things abbreviations...

I'll keep it questionable for now until we have it definitely confirmed. :)

Once again confirming that they are completely irrational when it comes to changes and bug fixes.

Bwaaaaaah! I remembered the Korean version being identical to the USA 01, until I re-read your thread. From what I could gather from your information, the only differences are the save format and the Watery Hall secret world.

Never heard of any other versions before. But if they exist, they are probably identical to another release on the respective continent. I think they would have come to our attention before if there were significant differences, with all the dedicated fans around the globe.

By the way: I've stumbled upon your site before and used some of the release information there to create my complete soundtrack rip, so thanks for your - unintentional - help. :)

I know, that's pretty much the basis for the table, as evidenced in the many links. The lot of them are very unlikely to ever have been noticed by me...
