Stupid forums and things getting misinterpreted. I didn't mean anything by that to be offensive if that is how it sounded. I was just saying Saturn told me the same thing as well. I was just stating the fact that he hasn't even seen it before. Which is pretty interesting if you ask me since he is known to make really incredible TAS Videos. He actually didn't even know it was possible with Angle Down. Anyway I truly appreciate the complement earlier and I'm very sorry if my post sounded offensive in an way.

Looking at my post again I probably shouldn't have added the word "but" in there. Again I'm very sorry about that. I'm glad you never seen it done from above as well. Coming from you Quietus that's a great thing to hear.

BTW Quietus I love your avatar. I'm a huge fan of the Street Fighter Series. Especially the Street Fighter Alpha Series.

I'm not sure if this has been found out before but i managed the trick on the ledge underneath using just spazer-wave charged shot. Must have been luck because i absolutely cannot do it now. I was starting to think maybe i could use it in my run after coming back from wrecked ship, so as to avoid coming back to the surface at the end of the game to get these items. Basically saves a small backtrack. Understandably at the end of the game you have screw attack and space jump to make all these rooms easier. But who knows some small room optimization could suffice nicely. I see if i can find a way to make it work more consistantly with just this beam charged again.

[edit] managed it twice more in a row. Stand in the same spot holding the charge and jump on the spot shooting diagionally up at the peak of the jump. the jump itself in terms of height i would say is around double samus height. practice it. Im thinking. Coming back from wrecked ship. prepare a shinespark on the surface. recharge at your ship if you really need too (lets be honest it's a 100% run, of course we do lol), come out your ship, diaginal shinespark to the power bomb room up the top, grab that, come back, fly off the top and use the trick with just spazer-wave charged shot on the ledge underneath (i wonder if it could work on the top ledge come to think of it, i doubt it though, it has trouble with plasma lol), get onto the big rock and do a super short charge and away you go.

Unfortunatly the rooms after the energy tank would have to be dealt with using power bombs making it a lot slower than screw attack space jumping through as you would later normally. But it would be really cool if getting all these items this soon would make it quicker than having to backtrack later on. Having said that it's not a huge backtrack. Sad

It's to do with the width of the beam.  Charged Spazer / Wave is not much smaller than charged Plasma, so you should be able to do it with them, but it'll be a little harder.

Yea I forgot to mention that you can do it with the Charged/Spazer/Wave as well. You just have to stay on that same spot and jump and at the peek you release the beam. If I remember correctly if you push forward in to the wall it hits more consistently  but, I haven't done it in a while. I think it would be better if you clean up at the end though because your more powered up like you said. I believe going through that area at the end is much more optimized.

I'm trying to better optimize that set of pillars after the energy tank with power bombs. I agree i think you'd probably lose time from doing it with a lower powered samus. Not if though it's possible to get it from the top ledge then it could roughly be the same.

Yea I've tested it with the Charged/Spazer/Wave at the top a while ago but, I just wasn't able to hit the door. I think its because of the length of the Plasma Beam is what hits it for the top. I was never able to get the Spazer to work from up there but, you can try it if you like. From below if you didn't know you can actually hit the door with the Wave Beam alone. You know whats funny I just thought of something. What if you Power/Wave combo from above the ledge? I wonder if that would work.

yea completly agree with you on the top ledge is because of the length of the beam not the width. for anywhere else it's width as normal. Good thinking about the wave power combo. But do those particles open doors? i honestly can't remember.

Ahh bugger it doesn't work on doors lol

Never mind I forgot that Power Bomb combos can't open doors. LOL.

That would have been an amazing find if it worked.

I think though that if you did clean this section up this early it would make a speed run look and feel kinda more clean. Less backtracking. It's just a shame that you can't really get the beam to work up top and then the rooms after energy tank are a real pain in the arse with just power bombs

Sorry, I wasn't talking specifically about the beam's width, but the huge area that they cover when fired.  Kinda like a moving rectangle.  What you mentioned about it altering by pressing forward, this happens because your forward momentum is added to the trajectory of the beam.  Easiest seen with Missiles, if you fire while standing still, and then fire as you tap forward, you'll see they move along different lines.

Yea the width between spazer-wave (or just spazer and wave on their own come to think of it) and plasma wave are the same but the length is obviously longer for plasma which is what enables you to hit the door from the top ledge.

Yea i think it's essential to being moving forward in the air as you release the beam just before touching the ground. I guess a standing charged shot would be too high for the door. A straight up jump followed by a shot before you touch the ground would be too low so a moving jump is required, given the placement of the door.

Honestly I think I figured out how to get 0:00 after Ceres Station. I noticed that Red Scarlet had Japanese Subtitles on. Then I noticed that Hotarubi on his RBO had English Subtitles on. So my brother tried it with Japanese Subtitles and got a 43.90 and finally got 0:00 after the reset. Without the Subtitles I've seen him get 45.70 and got 0:01 after the reset. So maybe this is the trick.

exellent. I can't remember but does it actually save time on a segmented run to start on zebes with 0:00. I'm aware that there's lot's of different saves during that cutscene, which i think means that when you load your game, the first thing you see is your ship coming down which means the timer probably hits 0:01 by the time your ship reaches it's parked position. I could be mistaken here.

I'm fairly certain that's correct.  Though you have bragging rights for the 0:01 file, I don't think you can avoid 0:01 as you leave the ship.

It's probably right and it doesn't offer anything other than bragging rights. But it is cool.

I'm not sure if it was you quietus but did you subscribe to me on youtube?. If so, cheers man !!
