part of the reason I might hate that movie now is because I saw it waaaay too many times, thanks to having younger siblings. Maybe if I saw it once, but still it just doesn't have the same re-watchability like Wall-e does.

It's just a little early to be calling the system a failure, in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a failure just yet, but that their strategy was just an enormously botched job. They were riding hard on the whole 3D thing, assuming it would sell on that alone, and it kind of worked but not as well as pretty much everyone expected. And since they prematurely blew themselves they really couldn't do anything about it.

Also, I think that's now my favorite of my avatars. Nice grab PEnvy.

oh, so apparently some of the games they're offering for free here are exclusive to this offer and you won't be able to buy them later. That seems really dumb imo, they're pretty much just saying they don't want people's money <_<

now that the 3DS costs the same as a DSiXL, it should be a better deal right?

still, the biggest mistake was not having a new must have at launch. ports like OoT3D are nice and all but Nintendo shouldn't have relied on that alone (this sounds a lot like the DS's first year)

the bad thing about the free games for me is that i own most of them already (the GBA ones) or don't care about them at all (the NES ones)

I'd say it'd be good enough if they just came out on the VC.

That's what I meant. Konami wouldn't be cool with Ninty just giving CV away.

Yeah, I can really see that being a problem for a lot of folks.  Thankfully I was never a TRUE FAN so I only had a couple of GBA games - and most of them third-party, at that.

I still don't care about the NES titles, though.  I've played the original Mario, Metroid, and Zelda games and I'm not terribly impressed with any of them.  I can understand their significance to the rest of their respective series, mind, but they did not age well.

I love a lot of NES games, so I'm actually down with getting them for free. I know most people don't care for games that old nowadays, but I still think they have a lot of charm in their simplicity.

Do you mean because of 2 buttons?
Other than that I don't think they are simpler regarding gameplay than modern mainstream games. The good Nes games were designed around distinct gameplay patterns you had to see, adapt and to conquer. In this regard they were rich compared to modern mainstream games because they are lacking clean mechanics, take TombRaider Underworld as example.
