I heard the JP version lets you skip the dialogue.  I replay the game enough that I'm beginning to feel it would be worth it to own a JP copy, but I can't find anyplace to buy.

I checked play-asia, japangamestock, japanvideogames, and jgamer but only play-asia even lists it (and its out of stock).  Anyone here get a JP version of Fusion?  How did you get it?

i've got one. i got it from play-asia, sorry that they're out. however, if you only want it to skip the dialogue, you can do that anyway on the us version (start from the ship when you select the file). i got it so that i could get hard mode.

Yeah sorry, you can't skip dialogue during the game. And to skip the 5-minute intro, you have to single-segment the game (no saving at all), then continue the file.

?  I'm not sure I understand.  I can skip all the dialogue in the US version (including all Adam-text mission briefings)?

Not even in the JP version?  And to skip the intro, that seems like a lot of work.  I just have a file where I watched the intro, started the game, then immediately jumped up and landed to save in the ship, and I just copy that file over when I replay.  I lose a little time I suppose, but its worth skipping the intro.

ok, let me clarify. you can't skip the computer conversations in either version. in both versions, if you beat the game in one go, starting the file again will start you at the first computer conversation. in the japanese version, if the file is beaten (has a metroid next to it), you can press start to skip the intro if you "start over" the file or whatever it's called.

OH, I see.  Sorry for troubling you all and the confusion, then.  I coulda sworn I heard somewhere I could skip dialogue in the JP version.  It's too bad I can't.

On the bright side, this means there's no reason for me to go through the trouble of finding an affordable JP copy!

I might have to order a copy just for that.  Is it like ZM's hard mode?

Start a new game, and make a copy of the file. Easy intro skip.

You have to either A) Beat the game, or B) Jump out of the ship and go back in it to save, losing several seconds. If you just start over and copy the file, you still have to sit through the intro.

yep. just play through the game in one sitting without saving. shouldn't be a problem for someone who wants to speedrun anyway.
