Hey everyone, I just found out about this site and watched some of the Time trials for Super Metoid and was immediately impressed by some of the skill some have. That being said I didn't see a trick I use all the time being used in the movies or anywhere on the site. Forgive me if I have overlooked it.
Ok this might help shave some time off of someones time trials but in Brinstar there is a energy tank in the ceiling that I have seen people bomb up to. Well my way is a little different, I get a boost from the creature that flies back and forth(sorry can't remember the correct name for it :? ). Right as you enter the room, go over and jump over the flying creature and stand under the energy and shoot the block to expose it. Jump up while the creature is on its swoop back at you and if you time just right the creature will knock you into the tank on the 1st try, simple and short. No fancy bombing needed! :D
One last thing, when I do the mockball, I found that if you do a tap down then a fireball motion and hold forward it helps out right when you are near the ground. Works for me so you can take it or leave it.
