Boost Guardian without Dark Suit/Energy Tanks/Power Bombs on Trilogy version

After about 70 or 80 tries, i beat Boosty without Dark Suit and Energy Tanks on the easier normal mode on the Trilogy Version! The darkness still does 6 units of damage per second, but Boosty has less health, making it possible to defeat him under 21% conditions!

The video which i made looks rather simple, but i got much luckier than you´d think. Both Inglets that i killed gave me a red energy refill - usually they didn´t give anything at all!

Enough said, here´s the video:

Unfortunately, the new Normal Mode isn´t as much easier as i expected when trying it out - therefore, Quadraxis might still be impossible under these conditions, but i´ll try!

That's amazing. How many times did you defeat him only to die while waiting for the energy drops before you finally made it?

That's might lead to an amazing 20% run, if your able to defeat Quadrix ! I wish you luck and a lot of patience Mr. X. That fight right there was trully incredible.

20%? How? The default percentage is 22%. Without the Dark Suit it would be 21%... which other item would you skip for 20%?

Grapple can't be skipped on Trilogy. no scan dash/roll jump to cross GA.

congrats on beating boost guardian with 21% conditions. finally something the trilogy version of mp2 has over the original.

it's probably possible but as far as i know never been done. i've killed him a couple times, but even in those cases die before i can get to safety. i think the closest i've ever gotten is travelling through the exit tube before dying. cool that it works in this one though.

i have no idea, i don't really remember. i do know that i've 'killed' him a few times, but never made it back to the save point.

I think BG always drops five pickups, but there are usually some missiles in there. If you get close when BG drops three or four health pickups then it's probably safe to assume that it would be possible if he dropped five.

While I'm not a speedrunner of these games, I do enjoy watching them, and I know about the Boost Guardian with 22 or 21% and how it's pretty much impossible, so I really couldn't believe what I was watching. You've also helped me for whenever I play it again, I can jump on top of those towers for safety (and pickups). Incredible mate, well done.
