On the snes I played like this

Y = shooting
B = jumping
A = running
X = weapon select

Every other button as it always is.

But it is very hard to use 2 fingers for the 4 buttons as I do on the snes. Does anyone know a good setup that could work for the DS's smaller buttons? I've been thinking of using L to choose weapons (I don't think a downward angle is that critical on speed runs, nothing the regular directional input cant' solve). Another Idea was to use L as the shooting, jumping or dashing but the thing is that my L button isn't as it used to be. Sometimes it malfunctions but I somehow repair it.

So what do you suggest?

Uhhh..
save the speedruns for a better emulator and use the L button for one of the two things you suggested? Rolling Eyes

Haven't you tried blowing into it?

Actually that's what I do if it malfunctions. But I use pure air from my mouth, as much as I can blow on my L button. I might get some compressed air.
