I understand if you really fail at controlling your kids that you might need to give em a spank or two to get them to behave, but what is the logic behind literally beating the fuck out of your kid? I ask this because one of my best friends who was a really pretty girl just had to get reconstructive surgery because her mum beat her with something heavy enough to shatter her jaw. Why would you ever need to do that to a kid? I'm totally at a loss for words.

Believe it or not that's actually a floppy disk.

Not realizing how heavy the object thing. My mom broke my foot because she was mad at me and kicked what she thought was a baseball. Turn's out it was a bowling bowl that my dad just HAVE's to have in the middle of the living room. Broke my foot but it broke her toes and sprained her ankle. Karma bitch. Did you ever hear what she was hit with?

I think some people are under the illusion that they have no self-control when their temper flares up. They get very angry and feel an urge to do something terrible, then right before they consciously decide to commit the act they tell themselves that they have lost control and just go ahead and do it. That's just my personal take on that type of BS.

To this degree is certainly something much more uncommon considering that you'd have to take the child you just beat to the hospital, kinda giving away the fact you're beating their ass.

I think that it's necessary to discipline children with, say a spanking, but one thing I think is a good exercise... is to wait until the parent is no longer frustrated or upset to discipline a child. To spank a child in anger is/can be destructive. My father was very rough on me in that area, but I learned from his mistakes (even though I'm 18 and have no kids).

Beating the crap out of a child doesn't do any good. You can tell your kid "I love you" all you want, but if the parent were to turn around and beat the (bleep) out of them, it completely negates the child's trust and love for them.

If the kid needs reconstructive surgery, then it's gone WAY too far. WAY too far...

I'm one of the people who understands spanking but thinks it's only for people who just suck at controling kids. If you're a good parent you can make them calm the hell down without beating their ass.

If you've brought them up properly they won't be screaming at the top of their lungs. I was brought up with the teaching that if I didn't get something I wanted/something didn't go my way I wouldn't scream like a freak, I'd just tell them what was wrong. It worked. I never needed a spanking. That's besides the point, there's really nothing wrong with a spanking however when you shatter your child's jaw, it's evidently gone way the fuck too far.

I do not want to condone their actions, this girl was one of my best (and still is) friends and I would like nothing more than to see her recover fully and her mum to be shot in the f*cking mouth. The police should be involved. A shatter jaw, that went beyond the line. Who ever shattered that girls jaw, should go to jail. Im sorry, but thats mine opinion. I got taken away from my mom more than 5 years ago. She & her boyfriend found me as a target. My mom was kind of crazy in a certain way. I have no clue if she drank or not. It makes me wonder how my lung was collapsed. There are times I get very pissed, but I don't hit anyone, I swear like a storm. Sometimes I think what happened to me in the past makes me cry. I gotten over some of it. *starts crying*

As a child I never really got spanked, my siblings on the other hand drive my mom crazy. I don't know how she controls herself, she has a lot of patience I guess.
