I haven't seen these posted anywhere...

1 - (useless) - if you press Start right as you get onto an elevator that has a short shaft to the edge of the screen, when the game unpauses and the elevator leaves the screen edge, the screen remains black forever.  The elevator down into the Brinstar shaft that you need Ice Beam to ascend works well.  Can you beat the game without seeing it?  :^)

I messed around a lot with Crystal Flash.  It turns out that the game only checks for Down/Fire/L/R on the frames right before you could place another Power Bomb.  At that time, it seems you must be in the same place you laid the power bomb, and have the required buttons held down, or it will not trigger the Flash.
(I have the cart so I wasn't about to test this, but maybe this means you could do a midair CF if you spring-ball back up to the exact same height?  Doesn't seem like it checks airborne.  Maybe useful to get into ceilings....)

2 - (useless?) - Therefore, you can drop a PB (hold Fire), immediately unmorph, charge long enough to get the special charge+other beam+power bomb item shield, and still morph back in time for the CF to go off.  Or you can fire a few times, drop some bombs, jump and fall back down, etc.
With frame timing it might be possible to trigger the shield (taking a power bomb) right as you morph for the CF - maybe you can wrap the power bomb counter around?)

3 - (Edit:  I see someone else found the Draygon/CF glitch).  Can the pincer enemies grab you out of a CF like Draygon can?  If you can do it from the pincer enemies (in Brinstar, say), you might be able to get a bunch more items without the Speed Booster.  NSB run, anyone?

Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
... you have 1 glitch and 3 suggestions. :P
The glitch you found is simply the blackout glitch. You can trigger it on any door, not just elevators.

Crystal flash in mid-air: I'm pretty sure there's a check to make sure Samus isn't moving, either, but I don't remember one for Samus being on the ground. It might be possible with a frame perfect trick to get a crystal flash in mid-air. I'd have to check.
I don't see what use it would be though. There'd be air beneath you, and so you'd simply fall instead of getting through a ceiling. Grey doors have a buffer of air between the door and the door trigger, so you wouldn't quite reach that. Since Samus is falling, the main collision detection would be her feet, so you wouldn't even be able to break crumble blocks, I don't think... but I guess it's something to check.

Firing a SBA requires you to be increasing the charge count on your beam. Increasing the charge count requires you not be morphed or in the process of morphing. Crystal flashing requires that you be morphed. You won't be able to get a SBA off at the right time to overflow the powerbomb counter.
The concept of overflowing the powerbomb counter *will* work fine, though. You can do it sometimes with a CF during MB's attack. No other way to drain your weapons after starting a CF come to mind, though.

Draygon not only grabs and moves Samus, but *directly* puts her in a new pose. No other enemy known in the game does that. Yapping Maws have been tested for grabbing Samus during a Crystal Flash and while super jumping. The former doesn't do much interesting, and the latter crashes the game.

Summary: No new glitches, 1 possible idea but it's a bit of a stretch. I'm kinda braindead right now though, so not going to figure it out.

BTW, are you the same Mike Z that started the Green Chozo, Escape with Metroid, and Missile Reset-The-Game rumours?

Ready and willing.
Well, I think he asked that because there's a lot of Mike Z's out there in the world.
