¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Quote from DonnyDonovan:

Thank you unsane.  I figured out the physics of that move.  But, I think I need
grapple, as the mochtroids are murdering me and I assume that's what would kill them.  Hint as to it's location?  I seem to be missing things everyone else found pretty easily (grapple and speedbooster for sure)

Ironically enough, Grapple and Speedbooster are both in the same room. If you follow the path to the left of the ship all the way to an elevator and go down it to a red gate, you're in the right area. In order to open it, shoot a missile at the block to the right of the elevator in the little crevasse. Go all the way to the bottom of the room and underwater to get the items.
I hate having the entire contents of a post in spoilers... but I have nothing more to add....

OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
Well I don't know what you were doing when you designed this room... It's an item whore's dream room!

Just got Space Jump. so far i've picked up:

9 Energy tanks
1 Reserve Tank
Varia
Gravity
Morph
Bombs
Space Jump
Speedbooster
Spazer
Plasma
95 Missiles
15 Supers
10 Pbombs

Don't really know if I'm going well for item pickups so far...

No....the item whore's dream room is the one with the Wave Beam.....although that's the only item in that entire room that I cannot seem to get. It's driving me nuts trying to figure that out.

Woot!

1.27 / 85%

That was really fun. I loved the non-linearity in the item pickups. I missed a few things, but I think I did all right. I wonder where Screw attack or Ice beam are???

Well considering the short amount of time you had to do this, it was very well done indeed. Some of the FX1 were very nice, especially that room in the escape sequence, before the mini kraids. Other times I looked and screamed "My Eyes!!" (not really but that sums it up).

Not sure whether I like them really. Redesigns were good IMO, after I got used to them (playing SMR now I'm like "WTF how did I do this?!). This was really well made to use the new physics, but the physics themselves were messing with my head. The game felt really slow, espescially while I was waiting for Samus to go way up or falling. What really annoyed me is that you can't mid-air morph into a tunnel unless there's space above the opening, but I liked having to think about things for once, rather than just reacting.

Anyway it was a very nice hack grin new Thankyee

EDIT:

Also DSO you've made a mistake with the stats on the first post. You've put Achy as having the lowest (30%, but JK got 29%, as well as fastest. Unless you're only giving out 1 prize to each person, then Achy is the next lowest)

I thought you said 100% was the max!

Totals were 225/75/45/13E/4R with all upgrades minus highjump and xray.

All right thoughts time.  I really REALLY loved this hack.  It was so fresh and new!  The physics helped that feeling for sure.  I loved the graphical combinations, the strange things that you would find the randomly super-detailed rooms, palettes, item locations, nonlinearity, this hack delivers.  Only issue I have is one that I'll echo from some others.  The physics are neat but they do slow the game down in a way since it takes so long for samus to rise up, especially since you'll be running back and forth in a room and then have to slowly wait as you climb a little vertical portion.  Lack of springball was also annoying at times but the boostball's rocket abilities helped make up for that in most cases.

I'm really looking forward to your next hack DSO. :D

Regarding having no spring ball...

It's possible to keep rising after a bomb blast.

Maybe most of you knew that.  But some of the comments I've seen make me think people didn't know all haven't discovered all the quirks that go with the new physics. :-/

No I figured that out, I'm just noting that I missed having Springball.

Also, I made up a little video of probably my favorite room in the game:

Samus...? Is that you?
In page 3, i asked how to get BoostBall, end looks like everyone's telling me hot to get out of that room. But my problem is how to get the boostball. I think you need a screenshot.

Maybe i have to use some cheats so i can walk through walls

Edit: Now i got it. Nice trick DSO  Applause

Hi, I hear it's possible to have the speed booster and charge beam already at the point in the game I'm at but I have no idea where the heck they are.  I'm back at the ship right now. Brick wall

Here's everything I have:

7 E-tanks
60 missiles
10 super missiles
5 powerbombs
spazer
varia suit
morph ball
bomb

One thing I'm not sure if I should do right now or not: There's an area I can get to using powerbombs.  I go there and I find about two noob tubes that the powerbombs can shatter but there are white metroids here and I don't have the ice beam.

Thanks for any help.

(also, I know where the wave beam is but have no idea how to get to it....)

Search around in the rooms left of the ship. You could possibly do that powerbomb path, but the begining would be very difficult.

This seems to be the most frequently asked question, but --

I've been boostballing around that yellow room for 20 minutes.  Can someone be a little more specific on what triggers a trip through the grey door?

The ball only boosts you up and down, and it won't work unless you are at least a pixel off the ground.

I hope I can explain in a way that makes sense...

Set a bomb while morphed.  Normally the blast pushes you up and you fall back down, but try moving just as it blows up.  You'll be pushed up but you can keep going upward just as if you had been standing and jumped anyway.  Also, you may find that you have to keep holding a direction, if you don't -then you will fall.

Edit: I'm sure this has been answered, but how do I to get out of the boost ball room?  Embarassed

Hmm.  It worked.  IMhO...  If that's how it's supposed to be done...  That doesn't seem fair.  Confused

Edit: I'm not sure if it's because I picked up boostball but...

I can't seem to do that 'float off a bomb blast' -trick anymore.

I've been trying repeatedly and I can't get it to work.  I am stuck in that room until someone can explain exactly what it is I am supposed to do to get out.  Frustrating.  Otherwise a mostly great hack so far.
