Hey everyone,

I just finished a 23% run tonight with a time of 3:19. The last boss took me forever (maybe 10 hours). Twice I died on the second form when it literally had just a hair or health left. However, finally I did it. I must say though that all of this sequence-breaking stuff is a lot easier than I had anticipated... More fun too.

Anyway, I didn't bother taping this run or anything because I plan to do it again soon. I'm going to go on a 23% speed run.

I've been working on Low Percent but...stupid Artifact of Wild. I'm about ready to just grab the Spider Ball and try that tricky jump Sess came up with. I'm pretty sure if I get a time below 7:50 on 24% I'm added to the high scores. Out of curiosity, what do I need to send in to qualify for the high score? Picture of Mission Final, video of whole run, part of run?

please see V7.0 for the current rules for submitting runs. in general, you will need to submit the entire run due to the ease of faking an end time.

I have a few questions. It would be cool if someone answered them for me. :D

1) Why did Treb scan the Parasite Queen on his speed run?

2) How come it seems to always take a different amount of missles to kill the Parasite Queen? It only took Treb 9. I figure it either has to do with how quickly you fire the missles or what part of the boss you hit.

3) I have trouble firing missles at the quickest speed. I can do the rapid fire thing but not as quickly as it's done in some of the videos. Is it normal to find it hard? tzyr's strat helped a bit. Is pushing Y quickly the only factor that affects how quickly the missles come out?

4) Do cut-scenes count for mission time?

Tzyr is a maniac with rapid fire missiles. As far as I'm aware, the rhythem is a little more importiant than the speed. Tzyr could probably help better than I though.

1) We didn't know it was better to just aim up at her mouth then (despite how obvious it is).

2) Don't know. Shots to the mouth do more damage but there's still something weird about it. It's possible you do even more damage when her mouth is open, but it's hard to tell for sure.

3) Can't help much here.

4) No.

For your third question, I can probably help. You need to go a certain pace. For beginners, go at the beat of any song. Bum, bum, bum, bum... Then, double the beat once you have the hang of it. You need to press the buttons properly though. The only thing that I can say about that is press the buttons at about the same time. You should get the hang of it. That's how I trained and it's always worked for me. Hope this helps. :D

Commentary

Segment 1: turned on Gamecube, went and made a sandwich. Came back 4 minutes later and turned on the television. Pressed start.

Segment 2: Went to the bathroom, returned to find 100% log book scans completed. Then got Space Jump boots.

Segment 3: This segment is sort of a blur.

Segment 4: Beat Ridley using only the pause button, while eating sandwich with left hand.

Segment 5: The end!
