well yeah but i R jump (or dash) everywhere so in other words i use one even tho its not needed (and again i ask why are we not finding a way to and to IC without artifacts?
The fact that you edited your last post clearly shows that you know how to edit, so why did you still feel like making two posts back-to-back with 9 words combined?
The only problem I see with skipping Plasma beam, is grabbing the Phazon Suit. I haven't gotten to play all the way to getting the suit, but I do believe there is two doors that block you when you get in to face the guardian(again, haven't played that part in a long time)... So if we're to skip the Plasma beam, we'd need a sw in this room somewhere. If possible, we could use the sw trick that Jerry9 discovered for the room, 'Security Access B', then surely Plasma might be skip-able.
But then again there's that artifact in Phendrana Drifts that you'd need to sw out once your in. But I don't really remember the door patterns there either.
Though I may be overlooking the possibilities for the Plasma Beam skip. Is there any other rooms where this is a critical must have? I know you don't need it for Metroid Prime's forms, but to get to him through the Phazon, you will need it, unless there's a sw somewhere? at the elevator to clip through?
I feel that this could be yet another possible skip. It's just those rooms(and area's) we need to bypass...
The biggest problem for skipping plasma is probably the first room in impact crater. If the plasma door there can't be bypassed then there really isn't any point in attempting to solve other rooms.
And ice will never be skipped because of HOTE artifact, wave will never be skipped because of Tower of Light artifact. I wouldn't even think about skipping beams.

For the record, that SW was discovered by sparky. I only made the video and description page. In regards to its use elsewhere, that trick is very specific to that area. If you move around that wall you will find that you can almost fit through by yourself. Additionally, the pirate does not clip you out of the room's boundaries. The room looks like the pit use to contain something at some point in development and the wall was hastily patched when it got removed.
plamsa is needed for getting sun, exiting far phen, exiting OP's room, phazon core, prime fight, etc. Just the listed stuff requires 3 SW's in closed rooms. None of the beams will be skipped without some yet undiscovered clipping glitch.
I hate to be overly negative, but it really seems like 20% is a bit of a pipe dream. So many as-of-yet undiscovered SWs are needed to skip any of the remaining items.
12 Artifacts -- We've been over this. Needs massive and massively unlikely glitch. Missles -- Needs tons of SWs. Getting back from Morph alone is unlikely, much less all the other missle locks. Morph Ball -- Needed for Bombs, among other things Bombs -- Nearly all of the SBs require these. And even if we found something ridiculous like floaty jump everywhere, we'd still need to skip Varia because of Flaaghra. Varia -- Obviously the closest, but we'd need a SW in Twin Fires or maybe in the elevator, and we'd need another SW in the Phendrana elevator or a SW in the Plazon Mines elevator. Wave, Ice, Plasma -- SWing around tons of doors, plus Prime says hi. X-ray -- Damage OP without it. Another quite close one, but would need a glitch that has been looked for for years. Power Bombs -- Also need tons of SWs, getting out of the X-ray room being particularly problematic. Not to mention the serious problem of Warrior.
So, yeah, we need 2 fairly unlikely SWs to skip Varia, or an incredibly unlikely glitch to damage OP without X-ray. And those are our best shots at 20%.
Well, besides the three rooms to clip out of bounds to skip plasma, you can kill Prime's first form without it, due to the first three rounds dealing with only the Power, then Wave, then Ice beams. The final round is nothing but random. I didn't fire my plasma beam at all because of the orbs he kept shooting at me(missiles ftw! :P). So pretty much just three nice rooms we can try to work around to skip. So much doubt in the first room of the Impact Crater. Besides, to get one of the artifacts(the one after Super Missile room), you don't need plasma or secret worlds to reach due to Precision missile shooting over the walls. :) But it's another room near phendrana's edge... I'll go ahead and head to these spots to find out for myself. Even with this terrible gcn controller me and my friend got confused with, since mine didn't have a bad L button, and this controller does. Oh well... But I think the Plasma could be skipped if we can get past those three rooms I mentioned. Imma try anyways. :)
if i remember right to skip varia you need to do some carzy ass ludacris wall crawl's starting from the elevator you come to from IBBF (no one have found a SW there yet tho...) and go from there to PB and then back to get x-ray then go back to the elevator and wall crawl to OP fight him with PB ice beam and power beam the somehow get out of the mines and back tallon or somthing and then do the rest of the game like in a 21% but without varia --and without heat damage--

i really cant see this working but for some reason i remember somone saying that the artifacrt conuter get's really messed if you skip the cutseen of ridley after boost --like wall crawl past it-- i have try'ed it and i dout it wall do anything but i dont know... it would talk some testing but mabey we could get boost in order to skip some or all artifacts if the conter get mest up and the game thinks you have more/less that you really do
Has anyone tried to do a scan dash past the one spider ball foom near the magmoor/tallon elevator?. it seems really far but it might be possible. And if i remember right all the rooms after that are not super heated.
Even then Twin Fires Tunnel is still super-heated, so unless we go extremely fast and get lucky with pick-ups I don't see you getting to Geo Thermal core without varia.
Not quite. A sw in twin fires would get us to phazon mines, but we'd be stuck in there. We'd also need a secret world in ppc. A elevator sw would be enough.
