i used a sekrit trik to make zeebs blow up w/o kiling the last boss, and now have the best win ever!

The movie actually ISN'T and April Fool joke. It actually completes the game in 31 minutes with 13 items. MetroidElitest does some crazy out-of-the-room stuff with X-ray and skips all boss/miniboss fights whatsoever (even Torizo, since it's done on the European ROM). aiwebs_016

I didn't get how did you figure out the save station maneuver, though.

Btw, the glitch really messes up the tile boundaries in Tourian.

That was very impressive!

I wonder why you did save in brinstar and reload again. And was loading the Brinstar savestate in Tourian first, just to die and reload the correct one a mistake or intentionally? If so, what does it affect?

And lastly, I think you could skip the 3rd Super Missile pack as well, if it only was for executing the Crystal Flash, and those lowering the percentage to even 12%.

Nice and interesting run, nevertheless.

This was awesome. I am interested in making a run using this route, but I have some questions.

Is the ice beam necessary? You could use power bombs to kill the metroids, and you can damage boost to reach the x-ray.

Is it necessary to get an energy tank? If you played carefully enough, couldn't it be skipped?

Like Saturn said, is extra super missile necessary?

Is there any way to shorten the amount of time spent using the x-ray in the statue room?

Can you explain how/why the save system was used in your run?

Man, after watching that movie again, I think this guy is a true genius to discover such crazy things nobody could even dream of, even if his grammar don't look like that. :-P

This is for sure a new Super Metroid sensation in a low% run which might indeed allow even more % cutting as hero already suggested.

That was simply amazing! This one showed some things I have never seen before. I was wondering if it would be possible to x-ray -climb through the statue room. It was quite complicated but you did it.
The elevator morph ball was nice too :)

Luckily the graphics in Tourian were not that f**ked up, made it a lot more pleasant to watch.
Skipping MB battle came out of nowhere as well.

This kind of run might deserve to be TAS.

That was pretty neat. I wonder, though, if the out-of-room stuff would work on console, because from my experiences, the SNES tends to freeze at points when the emulator doesn't. Also, as Saturn and Hero of the Day already said, the third Super Missiles were unnecessray, and possibly the etank as well (is it possible to get the ice beam without it?)

The etank is skippable, the Ice beam also seems skippable, the supers are skippable. The only downsides are slower metroid rooms and more cautious zebetite room climb (rinkas do a great deal of damage, so they should be shot on sight).

However, if Ice beam is really required for something, then one would have to grab the etank as well (getting Ice beam with 99 energy doesn't seem too feasible).
