Okay, i've been attempting to get early ice beam in the trilogy version (via SW of course), but the ghetto jump to the SW is driving me crazy. Is there another, more easily accessed SW I can use? Time isn't really a factor for me at this point so anything will work.
easily accessed = yes overall easier on you = highly doubt it
Relevant text:I factored up the 1:03 world record time for the last 2 segs and you would have gotten 1:02:58:036 if you'd finished it as fast/faster then zoid
Relevant text:On segment 4, already noticed a couple of mistakes/omissions (cumulatively saving you probably 8 seconds). And that's just me. I suck shit at speedrunning. Nearing the end of seg 4, probably another 3 seconds or two.
I'm trying to prepare for a Varialess Magmoor Run with 5 energy tanks (b/c I really stink at it). But I've got two problems: IBBF and the E-tank in Training Chamber. 1. I got into the Gathering Hall SW but I can't get any farther. I started to head to Power Core, but I fell off of... something and ended up (barely) below the map. Anyone know HOW IN THE WORLD TO DO IBBF???2. Just to clarify with the E-tank in Training Chamber... Main Plaza SW -> E-tank by going through the ceiling -> Bomb-jump out -> Training Chamber SW -> Back out? And since Piston Tunnel seems incredibly hard, does anyone have any awesome strategies for it?

This is the Trilogy version IBBF, but in the comments I have an awesome IBBF route I wrote up a while back. The video should help too, I do it pretty slow.
if i remember correctly there is some trigger that causes the extension to come out. I believe that trigger is either getting up on the platform or getting plasma beam or something. and as i noticed in your vid you have the plasma beam already, i didn't so i would not have triggered the extension to come out as it would be in a speed run. I am playing on an ntsc 0-00 version.
The clipping for the large platform is always there, the platform comes out when you reach the second last spider block in the puzzle
not quite sure it is faster, because you have target that monster for the dash and than jump on track and dash. Its seem slower to me, but maybe it is easier and probably as fast as the bsj.
It can be done much faster than pictured there. I was probably like, 9 when i filmed that
thanks to everyone :D i have a question: when i get to segment 8, would you accept it if used the old/normal method in geo core and not the ghetto jump method? i mean the ghetto jump method is crazy hard and even when i practice it i need hundreds of attempts to get it once (if i'm lucky), from all the hundreds or thousands of attempts i could make it only a few times (maybe 3 times) to the ice beam door with the ghetto jump method, so i see there is almost no chance to get it at first attempt in a speedrun and i think it saves only 2 or 3 secs over the old method so i think it wouldn't be worth it just to save 2 secs (especially when those 2 secs wouldn't make any difference on my final time). i think if i choose to use the ghetto jump it could probably take me years just to get segment 8 done. that's not worth it, especially when it doesn't affect the final time. it's just too crazy hard.
