Oh, it was the side of the spider ball track. That was what I was missing. Anyways, I now have X-ray and Chozo, but am wondering how I'm supposed to get out of Life Grove. The page on the side doesn't have any explanation. I'm not going to have to do some horrible laddered HBJ off that rock spire, am I?
Something very strange just happened to me when picking up the artifact of Chozo (the one right after xray). There is a spinner that is at the bottom of a tall cylinder which is revealed after laying a bomb in some shallow water. I activated the spinner without using boost ball at all! My camera angle was a little funky when I tried to roll into the spinner, and I caught the edge of it and started to spin, much the way that the morph ball does when on uneven terrain. Those spins activated the spinner in about 1 second. I was half-in, half-out of the spinner - I never even went into it completely. Has this happened to anyone else before? (MPT version, btw)
OK, I need some help with getting into Life Grove 21%. I can't get the dash off the bloodflower to give me enough height to land on the spider ball track, and I can't get the TBJ in Great Tree Chamber high enough to reach the SW. Is there something I'm missing about these two tricks?
the HBJ in gtc is friggin insanely hard man. good luck
Quote from Jerry9:
If there is an AR code to add an item, then there should be a code to remove the item. a quick glance shows the "have item x" codes all point to the same region. probably a bit flag array, so add some 0's and you'll lose items.
keyword: should and the days of 'values' in coding for game is pretty much gone man... thats like, n64 era
i remember using AR to get several items in mp2 to test things (stuff like Annihilator on Quadraxis since that's impossible normally) and the items i didn't get and had with AR codes disappeared when i reloaded the save without the AR.
How would you use AR to load Burn Dome? Just use it to acquire morphball, varia, etc. without actually getting them, save in phendrana, then turn morphball off, moonjump on, and then wallcrawl to boost.
Save Station in Main Quarry can be reached in 21%, you just require a HBJ to do it, or a scan dash from a higher platform iirc.
you can dbj it
really? I always triple bomb jumped it, but then again my TBJs leave something to be desired.
HAHA i love you cos that sounds exactly like something i'd say, but just practise an HBJ and after a while you'll get good at it (it's superbly easy, even for me) and it'll replace TBJ
Last week, I played to Metroid Prime again and, while I was trying making the IBBF, I discovered a new place to do the IS. I upload it on Youtube and dragonridley tried doing it but he couldn´t, why? Perhaps because he´s the NTSC version and I´ve the PAL version?
Just saw this now... it's because the game thinks you're in the small tunnel room. Whenever you're physically in a room that differs from the minimap you can do that.
My route does cause a very strange glitch after warrior when i am in the wave trooper area where it triggers the wave troopers to fight twice even if i killed all of them it will do the second scene without any troopers which is weird.
Figured out the iDrone. I wasn't locking on to the eye, or if I thought I did it was actually a wasp behind it. I've done it a few times now without issue. Now, I was just about to post my next segment, but youtube deemed it too long and took it down. I'll have to fix it after work.
Oh yeah, and after my idrone experimentation I went ahead and did EW again, straight down and straight back up with several of those well placed bombs. Not sure how many I used but it was beautiful. I'm finally getting it down to where it's not so much of a terror to have to do. Wish I done that in this run... eh. Next time... next time.
heh i like how the first time i ever see an acronymn used is after i use it for the first time (:
